■ Concept and Interpretation

This piece was created as part of OST Composing Jam: Crunchtime 04, under the theme “Freedom.” I intended to convey my story and all the emotions that came with it through melodies instead of words. (If it's hard to imagine, try thinking of this as music accompanying a cutscene in a video game—lol.)

In interpreting the theme, I chose to express my raw emotions sparked by the word “Freedom,” along with the visual inspiration from Misty_Eden’s artwork. I also hoped to let this piece speak for itself as it’s shared with the world.

■ About the Piece

Unchain tells a story of resolve, confusion, and the inner struggle for freedom—against the very chains we place upon ourselves. Often, the battle lies within, and to overcome it always comes at a cost. Sometimes, that cost is intention or effort; other times, it may be the pain of letting go of a relationship or friendship.

True freedom isn’t just about escaping external restraints, but breaking free from the internal ones. It’s about unchaining ourselves to move forward on the path we choose.
